Visit of the Prof. Clay Johnston and Johnson & Johnson Delegation

On January 7, 2024, Professor Clay Johnston and a delegation from Johnson & Johnson visited the Beijing Tiantan hospital, Capital Medical University. Beijing Tiantan Hospital President, Yongjun Wang, led the National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases and the Clinical Trials Center in accompanying the delegation on a research tour.

During the meeting,Yongjun Wang warmly welcomed Professor Johnston and the Johnson & Johnson team, and organized a viewing of a documentary short film about the history of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, reminding all present of the hospital's spirit“noble medical ethics, persistent excellence, rigorousness and practicality, diligence and honesty”.

The Executive Deputy President of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Yilong Wang, introduced the hospital's clinical neuroscience. Liping Liu , Deputy Director of the Neurology Center and Director of the Department of Neurointensive Care Unit, introduced the attendees. Dr. Hao Li presented the basic structure of the National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases. Fudong Shi, Director of the Department of Neuroimmunology and Neuroinfectious Diseases, introduced stroke basic research. Dr. Shuya Li, Director of the Clinical Trials Center, introduced the Clinical Trials Center and its research wards, and Dr. Jing Jing introduced the Beijing Tiantan Neuroimaging Research Center.

Following these introductions, President Yongjun Wang's team and Professor Johnston engaged in in-depth discussions on four topics: medical quality control, antiplatelet therapy, reperfusion injury, and emergency stroke units.

After the meeting, Professor Johnston's delegation visit the Beijing Tiantan Neuroimaging Research Center, the National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases, the National Medical Quality Control Center for Neurological Diseases, the Hospital Smart Management Center, and the National

Clinical Trials Center for Neurological Diseases, AI and Medical Devices, Clinical Trials Center, Emergency Department. They thoroughly investigated the hospital's infrastructure and overall medical configuration, affirmed the hospital's construction ideas and specific measures, supported the international clinical research strategy of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, and expressed the intention for both parties to work together to make new and greater contributions to the construction of a global health community.
